Title: This game looks great, now hurry up and release it :-)
Post by: Johnny Boy on March 11, 2007, 02:02:54 am
Alright,

I noticed Aquaria when I visited GameTunnel and saw thier IGF article.  I hadn't heard or seen anything about Aquaria before that but because of the article I decided to check the site out.  I am very impressed by what I've seen.   The gameplay video and the screenshots look great!   The game has quite a unique look to it, along the lines of Wik and the Fable of Souls, yet much broader in scale in scope.  The gameplay itself looks much like a cross between Ecco the Dolphin meets Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.  Now maybe I'm wrong, but I do hope you understand that by making a statement like that I am giving the highest possible compliment for Aquaria because you won't find better platformers than those ones mentioned.   I'm still a huge fan of 2D graphics and when they're done this well I can't help but think that big publishers like Electronic Arts are wasting a lot of time and money trying to whip out the next big - "buggy" (or bug-ridden) - 3d blockbuster when there are extremely high quality games being developed by the less popular Indie Developers.   Thankfully, I've found that many Indie Game Developers have far more integrity than the large publishers do (which will always be the case now).

So, with that said, when the bugger is this game going to be released!?!?!?!?  Bring it on because I'm anxious for this one and have my wallet ready  ;D   (I know, I know... you're pushing for May, but I'm serious - bring it on!)   ;D

Here's a significant question:  Will we be able to buy the game via PayPal?

Thanks and congratulations with the recognition you've already received!  The game looks beautiful, sounds great, seems smooth and fluid...  if the actual game plays like this then you've definately earned the recognition!

Cheers!

 ???

A gravedig is when someone posts in an old topic and brings it to the top of the topics list. Johnny Boy (who I know) posted this topic back in March 2007. That's why I said to check the dates. That's also why it's called a gravedig, digging up a grave (old topic).

Chibi check the dates on these posts.  That first post was made in March 2007.

Another attempt at increasing post count? Tsk Tsk. Chibi, if you want something new to talk about, create a new thread man! :)

It's quite confusing to have the posts other people reply to deleted.  ::)
I'm not sure if it is good to allow users to delete their posts (besides the last one maybe). ;)

Yea Chibi it just causes more problems to delete your posts.  You may feel like it erases your mistake but our replies are still here and so is your post apologizing for it.  I don't understand what you were trying to accomplish other than confusing us and making us doubt our memories of there being a post we reponded to.

DO YOU LIKE MAKING ME FEEL CRAZY!?

Yes, I do  ;)

Sorry guys, but I don't think anyone's going to research "Chibi gravedigging" instead of "Mithalan boss walkthrough"

Can we let that subject go? I'd rather not talk about it. Thanks!

Ambrosia's beta periods are notoriously long. The quality of their initial releases is also notoriously high.

I'm subscribed to Ambrosia's news feeds. Every time they post something I light up like Happy Cat. "I CAN HAS AQUARIA?!?" ...only to find it's just an announcement of yet another Wiretap Studio review.  :P

Lol. True, that is a good point... The mac release isn't even out yet. xD

Man, and I was getting so anxious to play with widescreen, I didn't even think of what it must be like to have not even played this great game yet.

Then again...I kinda envy you mac users in a way...you get to experiance this for the first time, something which I will never be able to do again. :(

Man ain't that the truth.  To experience it again for the first time...I'd love that.  This game really perked up my pre-holiday week last x-mas.  I was so anxious for something new and then this dropped right into my lap.

Fun fact: I made my brother a gift certificate for the Mac version for x-mas last year. Maybe he'll get the game this year? ;)

(Woah, Glamador! When did you pass me with the post count? ;) Congrats!  :D)

I'm guessing while you were away doing whatever you were doing.  Wierd thing, I don't even post that often anymore.  Not as many people have Aquaria related questions.

Or you're just so good that people just read all your other posts and know what to do. ;)
