Title: Bought Aquaria on Mac Game Store; do I own the Windows version?
Post by: lanm on September 09, 2014, 06:11:02 pm
Hiya all,

I bought Aquaria on the Mac Game Store about 2 years ago. Since then I have moved from Mac to PC.

Since I have registration information for a copy of the game, does that extend to having a license for a Windows version of the game.
Is it possible to get a download link, or even a Humble Bundle or Steam key in this situation?

Cheers,
Brendan

Just use the files from the mac version and throw an update (http://www.bit-blot.com/forum/index.php?topic=4313.0) on it.
This is not the "official" way, but it works. Also on linux should you use that.
If you need some help getting the directory layout right, ask.
If you have the game only as a .dmg file, on windows you can unpack that with 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) to get the game files.

EDIT: Regarding licensing, i can't really tell you. But since win/linux/mac versions came with the HiB and the humble store also has those (and you get all of them if you buy it), it should be fine imho.
Back in the days when there was DRM it was platform locked, but it's not anymore.
