Title: *super SPOILERS* everything I know about ingredients and cooking

These are listed in the order they appear in the recipe book. and goes halfway into page 13.

It is probably complete since it is partially based off use of the "spawnAllIngredients" command, and partially based off the debug.log list of graphic files which it loads.

Unless otherwise noted, the spawnIngredient name of the ingredient is whatever is in column 1 with all spaces removed (and all lowercase, but that might be moot), leaving in punctuation (i.e. vedha's cure-all is spawned with "vedha'scure-all")

A listing of "-" for effect (without any other note), means it cannot be eaten at all.

Aww, now this spoils about everything.
I thought this would be all the ingredients you have so far, but this is just searching in game files for all the recipes...

I didn't mark it as spoilerific because it says nothing about anything you can discover through playing the game¹ - it doesn't say where to get ingredients, doesn't say where you'll get your first dose of various recipes (which might vary if you try to combine things yourself, anyway).

I could have produced the same list with a lot of saving and re-loading, combining everything based from the list of combinations - that's not exploration or thought or discovery.

If there were subtle clues in the game which would allow one to deduce the properties of food and their combinations, THEN this would be a thread of spoilers, because it would tell you how to solve a puzzle. There's no puzzle here, no exploration. I'm somewhat puzzled by the attitude that if I had combined everything myself, the mere act of clicking the same things over and over 75*74*73 + 75*75 times would make it a "better" post.

¹ - as opposed to merely using the game interface, which is not always the same thing as play.

Actually, by discovering/finding  recipes located in areas of the game, you learn them, so yeah, this is kind of a lame way to do it. :)

IMHO, if the idea were to discover recipes by finding them in game, you should have replaced the cooking interface from "drag items to the wok" to "click the recipe" (actually, this would also have been convenient a lot of the time, just put little drop-downs for the "any" items), or at least made it the case that even if you combined items "correctly" for a recipe you hadn't discovered, then you'd get sea loaf (analogy: you can tell me there's eggs and ham and cheese in an omelet, but unless I know what to do with them...). My maps are all white, so I think I had discovered every recipe the game was going to teach me, but that still left a few more which were only going to be found via either tedium or something more creative. I opted for the latter. Anyway, I don't object to marking it as "spoilers" but I was offended by the idea that replacement of tedium with scripting was somehow morally inferior. That is what computers are for :)

My question is: can you find all of this in the game, or do you have to experiment to come up with a lot of it?  I finished the game legit without any real help, and that leaves me with three quarters of page 9 filled up.  So I've got 4 and a quarter pages of recipes yet to find.  Didn't do any real experimentation with trying random combos of stuff, so... is that what I have to do to find them legitimately?

I have found every recipe besides the ones involving bones and buttery sea loaf, even though I DID find the buttery sea loaf at some time.
But I haven't finished and fully explored the game yet, so I don't know. I think I was at page 12 with my ingredients. Also to note that I experimented alot on my own too, trying to combine everything with everything, also something I worked on for a hour.

There's only a few of those I didn't find in game.

I'm fairly certain the Vedha recipes and the Loaf of Life recipes are not found in the game and only through experimentation and let's face it not many people are going to think of combing bones, poison or buttery sea loafs (the recipe for which IS in the game) with anything. I was thinking of combining high powered items together but I was to scared of the "not another sea loaf" syndrome! Looking at that list I would have been close to making some things but not close enough.

I didn't do any experimentation so all the recipes I did find were found in game (hence why I've missed a few innocuous ones like Berry ice cream, I probably just swam past wherever it was found in the game).

It seems like the list is missing the two last recipes, at least if we give for sure that the recipes book can be complete!
I really wonder what are those two... is't it strange that the Swordfish Steak, that alone gives a +2 health, is not involved in any super-curing recipe?

so, are there 50 recipes in all? (12 and a half pages) I've beaten all the mini-bosses, have all pets, health eggs, and treasures,  including the 3 cooking slot, and want to have all recipes before i go to fight the big guy and win the game!

Besides, I was always wondering what "Borscht" should be, but never googled it. Today at work a colleague told me about the Borscht they made yesterday, having an original recipe from the mom of a russian sutdent and how delicious it was.  :D  :D  :D

I don't think brine soup exists in the game >.<
if it's in the game...then how come no one knows the recipe to it yet...

I suspect it was removed, otherwise spawnAllIngredients() would make it. maybe they originally intended for salt chunks to be an ingredient.

I found a lot of these before I got to the body by messing around in the kitchen  :D  I'm guessing that if you have the ingredients, the frying pans and the wherewithall to get messy then it's not cheating right?  I accidently came up with a good method for testing whether it's loaf or not and not loosing any ingredients. no hacks, completly in game methods, any guesses? it gave me the freedom to test pretty much everything, suprisingly find a half a dozen recipies, make notes, then go back to a save point and redo it just so.

Yeah, it's known to use f.e. bones to create 8 sealoafs, so that you can't cook more by accident. Alec is thinking to remove it, though. ;)

it would be a good idea to remove or adjust that exploit somehow. I felt as though that I pressed the recipe button, but since it was using all in game mechanics it was a a game exploit or glitch not a hack. I found it in the veil so was using copious amounts of oil to make loafs instead of bones, as still using those for testing

I think it would be a idea to drop the things that are cooked too much. Like when you put the ingredients in the X and that Naija drops them.
That would be the best solution.

it would be a good idea to remove or adjust that exploit somehow. I felt as though that I pressed the recipe button, but since it was using all in game mechanics it was a a game exploit or glitch not a hack. was this an oversight or intentionally left in during the latest patch? I still use it in my latest session and it's a guarantee that I don't waste any precious items trying to make that elusive pie or whatever but it feels like I'm working the system. 

I started cooking those few weird recipies that I didn't come across the first time as soon as possible and it's very interesting to see how that affects the priority system of what gets alloted where. mmm precious jelly oil....
