I'm just at the Cathedral boss having explored the Kelp Forest and grabbed Nature Form. While entering one of the save rooms before the boss Naija talks about how she may want to leave this place and explore the world further before going to the boss.
Is this a hint as to what order the game should be completed in or just a throwaway comment about how hesitant she is to be there? Granted I'm slowly exploring Open Waters and its surrounding areas clockwise onwards but there's been so little guidance as to where to go I figured this may have been a hint :p
Just curious if there's a "Best Way" I should be going about things, partially because I don't want to miss anything on my first play through :D

Aside from getting the Nature form, there's nothing more you can do until you beat the Cathedral.
-
Yeah, the game half expects you to follow the signs and go to the cathedral first, at which point she informs you about training and getting nature form/ingredients first. If you already have them, then unfortunately it's time to do the rest of Mithalas :D!

Ah cool, defeated the boss. I'm more or less trying to cover as much ground as possible, but I'm starting to see the benefit of Map Notes people keep requesting :p
That or some way to examine which bits of previous maps you haven't discovered yet

It seems that we don't have the same game. In my game the undiscovered parts of the map are grey and the discovered parts white.
-
But you can only see that for the current zone you're in. It's a bit sad when you cross the whole map to discover that you had seen everything.
-
Yeah, I don't care about map notes, but I do wish you could tell what had and hadn't been explored in a zone without having to be in the zone.
-
yeah, unfortunately its a technical limitation.
(i'm using a wasteful method to draw the map progress, and if i draw them all at once the game will chug)
one option is to let you switch the map that is actively showing progress (maybe based on camera position or something?) but attempts to do that just made the game crash and burn.
but yeah, i'm sure there's something we can do here. just have to think of a clever way to do it.

I don't think it's a huge problem, at any rate, just a minor annoyance. It hasn't impeded my enjoyment of the game at all, it just makes finding all the secrets a bit rougher.
