I noticed that if I use bind to drag a rock around and then change to energy form, I can still drag my rock. Haven't found a good use for it yet. Is this behavior by design?
-
Yeah, we figured it would be cool to be able to pull a "shield" behind you while being able to attack.
There's actually an odd bug that comes out of that, but I won't spoil it for anyone. :]
-
Heh, I found that to be extremely annoying with a certain boss. Whenver I was binding one of these poisonous creatures, then changed to energy form and tried pushing him back, the creature was wiggling around me wildy, always getting in the way of my shots and ending up killed xD
I guess there was an easier way to do it, anyway, but bleh :p

Possible spoiler:
When I'm fighting that boss, I like to do circles around the bound creature, firing when I'm on the side nearest to the boss. It kinda feels like you're swinging the mutant around you.

I don't know about Energy Form, but I managed to destroy a few rocks with Beast form in the Veil. The first plan I came up with to get the extra height needed to collect the costume in Turtle Cave was to bind the rock at the bottom of the bubble area, switch to beast form, carry it to the top, jump out of the top bubble (which broke the bind), land on the rock in midair then jump off the rock. It was working up to the point where I hit the rock in midair; at which point it either goes flying off in random directions or disappears instantly.
The real solution is much easier, but mine would have been more satisfying if it didn't glitch out. :(

I usualy carry a rock around for defense. Tis way, if an enemy tries to get me from behind, it will be harmed a bit (if it manages to get me). Also, carrying a rock will score extra hits on an enemy when using beast form.
-
ARRRGH! Now I'll have to spend hours looking for it (curse you!) ;D
I suppose you couldn't reveal it earlier?

Looking for what?

It's particularly useful for Nautilus Prime. :)

For NP I grab the rock and shoot up past NP into the cave and fire shots from behind the rock, my health goes down but the last time I did it I didn't need to eat any health giving foods at all, in fact he died pretty quickly

Answering your question Glamador, the glitch that Alec said happened when you drag a rock behind you
"EDIT" Found the glitch: please excuse my double-posting, because I think the topic deserves a bump
-
[BUMP! ;) ] Here's the glitch: if you change to the beast form while still binding and jump straight out of the water in the veil, at the top of the climb the rock will disappear. Coincidentally, this first happened to me when I was trying to find another glitch: the one I saw on YouTube where naija teleports hundreds of feet up in the Veil by binding two rocks together.
Good luck finding more glitches!
P.S. @Alec: if this isn't the right one, then could you PM me the answer? I'm dying to know :D
-
Haha, I've got to try that now. Dissapearing matter! Alec has discovered the secret to infinite energy!
-
I have an idea that the other glitch doesn't work any more Chibi, I was trying for it last night with no luck at all :( I haven't tried jumping out of the water in beast form with a rock yet though?
-
I think the glitch only happens once you reach a certain height: you need the beast form to get there. My idea of the glitch is of a rubber band stretching until it breaks, sending the rock flying at the speed of light. (I realized that Alec hasn't found the secret to infinite energy, only teleportation ;D)
I tried the other glitch (binding a rock, then jumping between it and a hard place ;)) and explored every part of the Veil. It's my favorite Dual Form hunting ground.
BTW: I've completed all of the game except for the Creator (including getting the three hidden memories) and I'm venturing back to the light to stock up on Arcane Poultices and Volcano Rolls.

That's where I am now on my second game Chibi :D I did consider going on as this time I still had quite a lot of stuff in my larder but it is worth having it full just in case :D
What did you think of the Gauntlet then, fun hey ::) lol
-
What's the Gauntlet? Are you referring to the nasty series of themed tunnels (one with huge jaws, one with tons of uber-nautiluses, one with creepy smiling tentacles, etc.) you had to go through to rescue the four spirits? "shudders" :D It was an ordeal to go through (not so much hard as exhausting. I liked the end part of the jaw gauntlet though: where if you stopped, you were chomped ;)
BTW: the Golem has to be the only boss for which it is impossible to escape unscathed (at least for me) : the first time I tried him, he charged me horizontally and I thought that was the pattern. The time when he first jumped was a major WTF moment for me. You should have seen my face, frantically hitting the escape key with the Golem an inch away! I panicked and force-fed Naija three special cakes, two spicy rolls, and an arcane poultice :( :)
-
Actually I've seen a video of someone doing the Golem without getting hit. It's tricky, but if you switch to beast form and swim above him as he swings, he just misses you even though it looks like he should hit you. That's hitboxing for you.

I tend to fight him mostly using beast form but I can't avoid getting hit, or hitting those damn hot pipes :( but I don't use much in the way of health foods as I get him pretty quick but it is an exhausting fight.
And yes Chibi that is the gauntlet and all you need do is swim around those chompers, thought they do get a little thick around one small area. The first time I swam past those I didn't get chomped once, this time they got me several times because I was being too damn clever and miss-timed it :o
