Title: The End (Possible Spoilers)
Post by: Percival on November 07, 2010, 07:11:30 am
The ending to Aquaria (even if it wasn't the "true" ending), was just plain beautiful. I congratulate the devs for making such an awesome game. Although the exploring was a tad boring at times, that's all that I saw that was even the SLIGHTEST bit wrong with the game. (Aside from the annoying "minimize-after-every-panel" bug, but that's probably because I had Firefox open in the background.) Anyways, thank-you for introducing such a wonderful game and story to the world. (Well, most of it anyways.)

I can feel it in my gut, that if you were to make Aquaria into a book, you would most likely get a lot of buyers. (I know I would. Sure, games like this are great, but books detailing the game are what keep the memory of things like this alive, in my honest opinion.)

Even though it wasn't the true ending, it was still touching.

And you know, if you don't plan on making a sequel, you could always try the alternative, making said "sequel" into a book alongside the first. I don't know if that's more expensive than making a game itself or not, but it would be a good way to get some "closure", as it is now, what with "you know who" getting on "you know what" and going off to look for (supposedly) Naija.

 - With every thanks in the world,
 Percival.

You know, what I liked best about Aquaria was the soundtrack, and the atmosphere, and the VA of Naija, and those don't translate well to books.

The writing was well done, but I'm not sure how much of it would've immersed me as much in the written form. A book IS an interesting idea though, I'm just not sure if it could work.

Edit - Although it is worth mentioning that I REALLY liked the character of Naija and that probably WOULD translate well to books

Aye, it would. Was just a suggestion. And you never know, a book based on the events that took place in Aquaria could be as popular as the Twilight Series, or it might not. Only one way to find out. (Also, blech. Twilight. Senor "DERP" Sparkle Butt can go shove that stake where it hurts most. In fact, he may have already done that, as evidenced by this: http://7tattoo.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/edward_cullen_by_kittygoth1.jpg (http://7tattoo.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/edward_cullen_by_kittygoth1.jpg))

I think the less said about Twilight, the better. Especially since it's popular for all the wrong reasons, is basically a fad, and even to the author it's shallow, being little more than her sexual fantasies from high school.

Hm. Well I would have said "as popular as the Harry Potter series", but... the books aren't really as popular any more, and the movie series is coming to a close, what with the Three-Part "Deathly Hallows" coming out soon. (Apparently it's also going to be a "Theaters Only" deal over here, as in once they finish off Deathly Hallows and just about everyone's seen it, it's gone for good.)

The ending was good the first time but afterwards it was just plain long and boring  :-\
