I noticed in options there is a place to turn subtitles off and on, and there is a slider for voice.
But although the slide defaults to fairly high, I don't hear any voices at all.

Hm, it had voice when I played through. The great vocal work is a major selling point for the game after all.

Sounds like you're having audio troubles.
-
Hmm... well, I don't have audio issues for any other application.
Any ideas what I should check?
-
Hmm if you could send me your debug.log by private message that might help. Also letting me know what kind of sound card / onboard sound you have might give me a hint as well. :)

Haha. Thanks, but never mind. The solution was considerably lower-tech than that. One of my cables was loose.
Interestingly, it resulted in the sound effects, including the song notes, playing, but not the voice acting nor any of the musical soundtrack.
I just tried the demo again, and was blown away but how good it all is.
I'm not even gonna wait for you to patch in widescreen resolutions. I'm just going to edit the config file as you suggested and let it fill the screen. All the better when you get the widescreen support added, but I'm gonna buy now.
Thank you for sharing your labor-of-love with us, and for supporting your work on these forums so conscienciously. It's appreciated. :)

Thanks! Glad to hear it was an easy fix. And haha, that's really weird that a cable would be so selective.
