I'm getting a really frustrating bug. Twice now I've loaded my save file to find that the map is completely grey, as if I've not explored anywhere, with the exception of maybe one or two locations which stay white. I can't remember exactly where I've explored up to without it, so it means losing my progress and going back to an earlier save. Any ideas?

I'm somewhat new here too, but I have never heard of that problem before! Do you think you can give more information about your computer maybe? ^^;
Did restarting the game help, maybe?
As for the grayness / whiteness, as long as you still have your previous maps visible, it doesn't really make a difference, really... unless you're that obsessed (as I was, I must admit) with getting everything white. There are no in-game rewards for getting 100% white-ness.
I think it's also a good idea to point out that areas you are not in will always appear to be gray unless you click on them (I think) to select them, and then your completion appears for those area.

Restarting didn't fix it, no : (
I know they're greyed out until you click on them, but that's not what it is. All of my 'whited' maps are lost. I'm not trying to get 100% white or anything, but I want to make sure I've found everything, and not being able to tell if I've explored an area makes that impossible. The only thing I can do is load an earlier save.
Computer is:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.40 gHz
4 GB RAM
nVidia 9800 GTX
ASUS P5N-D
Thanks for the speedy reply.

I think I'll just back off and smile and hope that someone comes to help you. :S

Windows, Mac, or Linux?
(Interesting fact: the Mac version from the Humble Indie Bundle is a Icculus build, not an Ambrosia build.)

Well that was daft. The map bug caused me to take a break from playing, and because I took a break I forgot about this thread, and because I forgot about the thread, I still have the map issue, so I'm still not inclined to play. I'm a spanner sometimes.
Anyway, tis the Windows version from the Humble Indie Bundle.

Have you tried reinstalling? Also, what version of Windows? If you have Vista or later, you might want to run Aquaria as admin (right click).
