Title: Xbox360 wireless controller - Still a problem
Post by: Vriess on April 21, 2010, 09:47:57 pm
Hi everybody,

I'm  having the same problems with the Xbox360 wireless controller as some of you do....it can't seem to make it work with Aquaria!
It just doesn't respond what so ever. At the same time I've read that plenty of people don't have problems with this controller. What am I doing differently?  :o

I'm running Windows 7 with the latest controller drivers automatically downloaded with windows update and the controller works fine with all my other games.
I've checked the option to use a gamepad, reinstalled the controller drivers, unplugging and connecting the wireless receiver in game, alt-tabbed....nothing helps.

Sorry guys, but why can't you just add controller scheme's for the most popular controllers to the game?
Does someone who doesn't have the problem and uses the same controller tell me what I should do to make it work?
I don't wish to resort to using button mapping software.

Thanks in advance.

I'm assuming you've tested the controller with other games already?

If so, you probably have to muck around with the Aquaria user settings if you haven't yet...

Like I already said, I can play all my other games with the controller, so it's not broken or anything.

That's what I'm asking for,.....suggestions. Where should I look for settings of files to tinker with?
I haven't got a clue.

Thanks for responding anyway! :)

By the way....does it help mentioning that I own the Steam version?
On the forum there, nobody has a clue either and they've sent me here.

try searching your box for UserSettings.xml

(sometimes it can end up in different folders, depending on what version of Windows you're using)

There you can enable/disable joystick input and tweak the control bindings.
