Hey Alec, was wondering. Since the game is due out this year will the game be distributed in stores by dvd? or will it be paid download? Kinda like playng through paypal or something.
-
Our plan is to start (?) with a paid download, but we really, really want to see the game in a box at some point, also. Hopefully with a nice instruction manual. :)
But it will definitely be available for download from our website, at the very least.

Oooo..a nice colored instruction manual with a soundtrack would do nicely Derek. There MUST be a soundtrack. :P

Make it Happen Derek! Seperate download on the site for the tracks. :-* mp3's preferably. ;)

Hey, any plans for an affiliate program of some sort?
-
Any chance we can pay extra to nab a boxed copy? I'd be more than willing to pay extra up front and then wait for you guys to sort out the box issue. Or maybe we can pay for the download, enjoy the game, then you could have some kind of upgrade thing where we can send in a few extra bucks for a box after the fact? I'm big on having boxes/hard copies of my games even if I download them. Stardock has done a great job with the distribution of Galactic Civilizations 2 this way, and the guys at Moonpod and Introversion do excellent there as well.

I know I want a boxed copy too! So yeah, we'll definitely be looking into it.
No details yet, but its likely we'll put more than just the game in the box too. :D

Glass of Cran-peach Ocean Spray and a big head toy, and $350 is yours. FOREVER. and EVER.

Soundtrack!! :) And a piece of the real Naija's fin filament wrapped in ziploc baggy to preserve freshness. ^-^

Wouldn't you rather just have some Beef Jerky?
-
Beef Jerky won't give you the same feeling that a torn piece of exotic fin skin would. It dosn't give you that same experience unwrapping a can of tuna does. :P

Then someone has been lying to me. :-\

This also makes me ask. What if it's only download, and I have no money? I mean, I got some, but if it was Paypal or something I'd personally be screwed, because they had their system so effed up I'm not sure I can get one again. I'll have to sort that out.
-
I'm sure Alec and Derek are thinking of all these things, but it's still a bit too soon to tell. They will probably let us know when they figure it out themselves, as they get closer to completing the game.
-
I bet there'll be options to accommodate as many different systems / people / countries as possible. But no details as of yet.
-
I guess it's too early to ask this and this might seem a little forward of me (hell, this question might be in the wrong thread), but I feel it's pretty relevant to the topic. Plus Derek mentioned something about it.
How much will this game cost for the download? I'm a college student, so I want to know how much money I should set aside.
-
$20 US is our planned price for the download version.
Although we're hoping to put together a physical/boxed copy with extras too. That would cost a bit more, but you'd get cool extras with it. :)
-
Im a bit worried... since im not 21 yet, which is the age when you get a credit card around here (only have a debit card now), i was wondering if it will be possible to use paypalor such?
-
We haven't picked a service yet, but we'll try to find the one with the most payment options. There's probably some way to work it out.

I had an idea but now it sucks.
Alright, so, let me draw a cheap diagram
Download Centre ---------\ <Buyer
>----Local distrubutor of copies <Buyer
Paypal Payment thing--/ <Buyer
It'd be good for selling physical copies for a BIT I guess. We could do it in a way similar to Linux.
I know, I don't often make sense.

You're jumping too far. There is still time for that and I'm sure when Alec and Derek know what they are going to do and see that it's possible, they will let us know. If after that, by any chance, you still can't find a way to get the game, just contact one of them.
I'm guessing there wont be a problem though.

I know, dude, it was only an idea. There is a slight flaw in my idea, though, because the plan is sort of a modified version of how they distribute Linux, and really wouldn't work unless...
