Time machine, what?

Seems odd, but I guess you're refering to Canada posts "arrival time: 1969/1970"? I can reassure you, you're still in the year 2010.

Or, there's  one mysterious reason to ask that specific question... Alec posted you some Really Old Half Life -stuff for some reason. And a chock (wooden one, must be old; nowadays those are made of rubber I think)! Then it's unfair for the rest of us!  ;D oh well, /endofstupidjokes

THE PACKAGE ISN'T OPEN AND THE CD IS NEXT TO IT

> Ignore this impossibleness and just move on with your live
> Break both the CD and the package, claiming physical impossibility
> Count to potato
> Post on forums

Those were my options :)

I'm gonna count to potato.

I"m gonna post on forums.

So, you have 2 OSTs then? Cool. Hate to say, but if you forgot to mention that you just took the cd out and  taped the package again - such a puzzle of the year 2010 indeed. I wonder if even Hercule Poirot could have solved this.

Not to offend you  :). I guess I'll just post this dumb reaction and move on with my life...

Yeah, not really amazed at it or something, you could've used tape or maybe you were a fan/stupid and bought two.
Maybe you even cut open the under side, it's all possibilities.

Time machine is not. :3

I bought one, and I never taped it together again. Opening it without tearing most of it is impossible :)

After about a week or two of enjoying my OST I found another one in my mail box. The only explanation is that I used a time machine. K? K.

Ehm, he's yanking your chain. We sent a replacement after it was assumed lost and the "lost" one arrived shortly after the replacement did :(

So in a way you did accidentally send him another, which makes my guess correct.  ^-^

So now the question is: are you going to keep it or send it back?
Title: Re: What happened here
Post by: NeatNit on February 26, 2010, 11:27:49 am
Well I was told I could keep it, but  I still didn't open it.

If any of you want it, I'll send it to you and you'll just have to pay me back the shipment cost! (PM me your address and I'll find out the price)

I understand this case, people  surely have been hasty when it comes to waiting for that package. Someone got it in December, someone in February - no wonder why someone *cough yours truly cought* freaked out and bombarded Alec/Infinite Ammo/PayPal/someone with emails.

Just my 2 cents. Someone might think that we're not talking about big money here so it would be a waste of money to boomerang product to and fro (shipping really costs some money...), but it would be good and right to give money to the right party. Especially if this is a question of "worrying without a reason", where customer is wrong and sellers action is based on false information.

Not knowing what kind of discussion you have had with Inf Ammo/representatives so naturally this is just speculation and my own vision.

Yeah, the postal system in Canada can be crazy, and it's not that unusual for them to mess up. Let me tell you a story about a quilt my Mom tried to send me.

First of all, the postal workers couldn't find my place. It's hard to blame them, since I rent a basement and the doors around the back. Hasn't stopped mail from arriving in earlier cases. So it must have been someone who doesn't usually do that run. Also, it's on a Close, not a Street or an Avenue or Crescent or whatever, which confuses people sometimes.

Anyways, since they couldn't find my address in BC and the parcel was also coming from BC, guess where it went? Nova Scotia! For non-canadians, that's the opposite end of the country. Apparently that's where unmailable parcels go because they can't be arsed to have provincial centres for that. My Mom managed to use the tracking number to find it, talk to people, untuil it got sent back to her. She then re-sent it, using the same address, and it arrived just fine.

So, it was supposed to arrive Dec. 22nd, 2009, and it arrived near the end of January 2010. This for a parcel sent priority shipping from one end of the province to the other.

Long story short, it could be neither the sender nor the receiver's fault, and stuff happens.

I NEVER thought this was anyone's fault. I tried to be patient (although I don't think it came out very well... At least that etsy conversation is private ^-^) but it became obvious that the package indeed got lost in the mail. I have no idea how it eventually got here, but they did report a lost package so maybe that's how it was found.

Long story short, I have an extra, unopened OST. If you want it, PM me your address.

Edit: Someone PM'd me. If he doesn't mind revealing himself, he'll post here :P
But, I'm afraid I haven't made it clear in this post (I mentioned it a post or two back), you'd have to just pay me back for the shipping. Hope it's not a deal breaker :-\ (afaik it's relatively cheap here, but I won't have any real price until you give me the address)

I'm just glad it isn't going to waste!  8)

Edit: Alright, I already made a deal with Chibi and in case it breaks for whatever reason, Zoko also wants it. I really doubt both of them will cancel so all the rest of you, it's sold :P

Hey lemme clear something up....
this is in no way NeatNit's fault; this particular incident was not a case of impatience or jumping the gun :o
It's not really our fault either, unless you can fault us for ignorance about how unreliable international surface shipping can be!

We had filed a loss complaint with Canada Post, because the estimated wait was 4-6 weeks and it had been 10 weeks. The package arrived after 13 weeks, which in my mind is absurdly beyond all reasonable expectations. I'm still pursuing a complaint with Canada Post and they may be able to reimburse us at least some of the cost of the product for their failure to even come close to hitting delivery standards.

And yeah, NeatNit is welcome to keep the second package. It would be more hassle for us to pay to have it sent back, so you're for sure welcome to do what you like with it (and I am also glad it isn't going to waste; it's a kind thing to give it to another fan for free) :)

I'll pay the shipping, some way or another. ^_^ Revealing himself? This is all very cloak-and-dagger.  ;)

I didn't know I had that many hit points.  ;) *Chibi feels a cold knife between his vertebrae, falls to the floor, and with his last breath shoves the CD into the shredder.* And THAT's what happened here.  ;D Looks like you only got the package, not the music. ^_^

[EDIT]: Thanks again, btw.

I never thought this thread would go anywhere.  Clearly I didn't know who I was dealing with.  We've got postal accusations flying, shady deals, and assassination.  All over a picture of a package.

...I love you guys.

This role-playing attention to detail is one I would have missed had I been participating.  Kudos to all.

*Out of character.* Thanks!  ;) Roles are much more convincing if the players are anonymous.  ^-^

Roleplaying on forums is never a bad thing (unless a member is really immature)  I think this forum could do well with a little more roleplaying, actually   :D

I second that!

btw, in which country do you live, NeatNit? ( = fault of Canada's post or your country's post?)
