Title: Game Tunnel Player's Choice *Needs Fan Support!*
Post by: KingAl on December 07, 2007, 02:57:20 pm
Thingy (http://www.gametunnel.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=1706). I think Fashion Cents Deluxe needs a bit of competition (probably more diplomatic to vote after release, though ;) )

I voted for Aquaria, eventhough I'm not sure it's fare since I don't know any of the other games...

This topic needs to be pinned or something. There's loads more of people who haven't voted!

Indeed.  Here's a bump, at the least.  I've read GameTunnel for years, but this actually got me to sign up, despite the fact that it took like 40 tries to actually get one of those stupid anti-bot things to actually be readable enough for me to do it.  Arg.

I also find it hard to believe that the game currently in the lead is currently in the lead.  Not that there's anything wrong with it, but in my eyes this goes well beyond "no contest".

I have cast my vote. Can YOU say the same thing, person who is reading this AND haven't voted yet? I think not! But you want to, right? No, you say? Well fine then, be that way.

I think the game in the lead is pretty good actually. Probably not as good as Aquaria, but I wouldn't really say no contest, Aveyond 2 is a nice 50+ hour RPG in the style of Lunar and Star Ocean. I voted for Aquaria though, even though my own game is also on that list.

I dunno'... there are an awful lot of RPGs in the style of Lunar, etc., but not nearly so many games in the style of Aquaria, etc., and especially not good ones.

But what game is yours, rinku?  Shamelessly promote yourself!   :D

I just gave Aquaria my vote. Although it's a bit behind, we should try to make Aquaria the winner. ;)

Yeah, but Aquaria is a lot like Zelda or Metroid, and I don't think one genre having more games than another genre is much of a reason. I just voted for which I had the most fun with, and what I meant was that playing through Aveyond 2 is almost as much fun for me as playing through Aquaria.

My game is Immortal Defense. To show how small the world is, Derek (the Derek who made Aquaria) reviewed Immortal Defense for Game Tunnel -- the very site holding this poll/contest. :D

Immortal Defense is awesome!

I really enjoyed playing it, but I haven't finished it yet.

You guys can check it out here (http://studioeres.com/immortal/).

I found it to be a really refreshing and mesmerizing experience!

*^_^*

Hopefully Aquaria will get a lot of people into playing indie games more, the way Cave Story did a few years ago.

I concur.  And I don't want to knock Aveyond or anything, because I'm a big supporter of the indy scene in general... I guess Aquaria is just personally more up my alley.

I dig the look of Immortal Defense.  One of my friends really needs to see it, because he'll love the art style.

If you're reading this but haven't yet voted, you're feeling a seed of guilt grow inside you.

"What have I done!?" You ask youself. "Have I just used Alec and Derek and then cast them aside like a cheap whore?"
"Oh, woe is me!" You bellow, "this injustice demands to be righted!"

Then you click on this link (http://www.gametunnel.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=1706) and vote for Aquaria.

You know you want to. Honest. There's only about 3 days left to vote, or an eternity afterwards for self-flagellation.
