I've traveled successfully all the way to this point, but can't seem to much better than 6 notes vs goal of 8 notes. I have my mouse on fastest tracking. Is there any way to slow the timing down or anything else? Need to get to three plates for new recepies.

Not really no, you just need the luck that a lot of notes are the same, so keep trying.
Or just upload your save and let someone else do it, lol.

Some people are good at it, some are not. I'm not, Alphasoldier is.
It costs me a lot of time and cursing until I managed it.
There are a lot of similar threads to yours, look for them. ;)

I actually didn't have much trouble with Simon. He was really quite easy.
It only took me three tries. I guess the trick is to have fast reflexes, luck, and a surface that the laser mouse can "grip" really well.

A musical sense of hearing helps too ;)

Yeah, I found Simon pretty challenging, especially so because I play on a laptop. I guess some people just have a knack for this kind of stuff.

Hahah, I don't have a musical hearing AND I'm colorblind, so I only have shapes to go after. :p

You play Aquaria colorblind? How do you distinguish between the different colored pods?

I don't see in grayscale or anything, and I just 'guess' what color they are by going through the colors that look like them most.
Not THAT bigga deal, would've been worse if there were JUST colors, I was stuck at the whale for quite some time. xD

Oh, that. I remember that, vaguely. I think I got it on my first or second try. Probably first. It was a long time ago, but I think it was really really EASY.

At first I am having a hard time playing this one but later on I am enjoying it and finding it so easy. This one is pretty challenging.

how I beat Simon was to count the numbers in my head but at the musical tone they were associated with. once you get a good sequence it's a good method

I just swam into the middle of the creature, activated it, and used the memory of compass directions: N, NW, W, etc. As my Naija's song notes lined up pretty much with the creature's eye thingies, it was pretty much about the physical pattern, and not so much the notes or colors.
I didn't realize the timer started right away though (I had it in my mind that you had a certain amount of time per round) so after about 10 tries of taking it easy in the first few rounds and trying extra hard to commit the sequence to memory, I just went as fast as possible from the start and solved it the first time with that mindset.
It's interesting how players can have many different assumptions and solutions about the same scenario.
Note: I'm almost finished the game and it's by far one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Very, very nice.

I can NOT beat this thing... No matter how fast (and correct) I go, it seems to time out! Very frustrating and embarrassing how many times I've tried.
How long is the final sequence? I've gotten to 7 or 8 (I think), but sometimes, it won't let me get past 2 or 3 no matter how fast I go.

You can start on the first as soon as you hear it, you don't have to wait until he's done the whole thing.

ahh, that explains a lot... like when the sequence got to 7 or 8, I would fail at 2 or 3.

There was some talk about a bug reporting feature but Im not sure if it was implemented or how it works. You can probably just pm zombrex or any other member of the team should everything else fail.

When/how does he come out of his not-showing-any-directions-for-you-to-follow mode? I failed and now he won't let me try again... Does it just take time?

I just did it the brute force way. Keep trying and hope there are repeating notes. And do it as fast as you can :|

Hi , that's not so difficult , so need to try more and more to get lucky result . ;)

I don't know if this is of any help, but I found that it's much easier if you sing each note individually - with Simon says you don't actually need to do it as one song :D so what I ended up doing is pressing "Ctrl" whilst moving the mouse in the direction for the first note, releasing "Ctrl", and repeating the process for the second+ note(s) :) it meant that I didn't have to worry about the manoeuvring the mouse into the middle to avoid hitting the wrong note at all <(^_^)> also, it's pretty fast! :D However, it did mean I had to be careful which direction I was moving the mouse in (because of the speed you can go at), and a slightly wrong angle means the wrong note, and a restart required...
So yeah - use "Ctrl" instead of right-clicking, and release it in-between singing each note to make your job a bit easier/faster :D good luck! (it took me like, 30 tries in total, but that's because I was really tired when I was trying it, and the first 20 or so were done normally and getting to about the 4th note - the last 10 (with the new method) averaged about 6 notes :D )
