I would love to know the dynamics of downloading and paying for Aquaria. Would it be a case of having some kind of account and paying for the privelege of being able to download it whenever you want, or would it be somehow more restricted? Or does the payment take place post download via some kind of fantastic "registration" system? I'm going home for Christmas and would love to be able to download it to both computers and maybe copy the savegame to take with me via USB or something... Do you think that might be a possibility? Also - will it be possible (/acceptable) to copy the game files by way of a backup (or to install it on the other computer)?
Congratulations on finishing. The game looks beautiful

I was wondering the same thing. Since i'm not sure I should download it on my desktop or my laptop...
-
Luckily, I only have one computer, so I don't have that dilemma.
But, since I have Vista, my laptop could spontaneously crash at any moment, and I'd hate to have to rebuy Aquaria just because of that.
-
Very interested in this as well, since I'm about to switch laptops.
-
even without multable computers i would want to have some kind of way of tracking that, maybe your accounts could have (and possably) display weather or not you have it. Bioware has a system like that.
-
You must somehow be able to play the ame on different machines.
Because I'm using two computers depending if its weekend or workdays.
Please? ;)
-
This is a question I would like a definitive answer to as well as I intend to have it on my desktop and my laptop. Not to play simultaneously mind you.
-
We need Alec or Derek for this one.
-
Activation code, or if Darek and Alec wanna be fancy, they could go Steam :)
-
The epic (beasts) Steam discussion is here (http://www.bit-blot.com/forum/index.php?topic=141.0).
-
Yes, but...what if we don't have Steam? I mean, Aquaria looks awesome, but that's a rather large hoop to jump through for one indie game.
-
That's why, if you read the topic...
You can buy it from this very website...tomorrow...via paypal/creditcard, ect.
-
Its NOT going to be on Steam for now. Maybe later though.
-
Err... Another question (since I still hesitate about the laptop or the desktop thing)
Is it playable with the laptop thing to control (you know, the little touch-zone) or would it be better top lay with a real mouse?
-
Hi, first post on these forums, got referred here from the Magi forum. My watch says it's the 7th today ;). I was going to suggest Stardock for distribution but see in the Steam thread that someone already did that. Good luck with the final rush to get the game up for download, and once you're done I'd love to have the original poster's question answered. In particular, I'm hoping it will be possible to download to more than one computer.
-
I hope it doesn't have DRM or other crippleware.. I've seen enough good games being spoiled and I'm tired of pirates getting a better product than legitimate buyers. :(
Anyhow, how much longer? You shouldn't keep a crazy person in suspension! >:D

The Touch-Pad is bad for any game. Think about playing an FPS with that, you won't be able to preform quick moves. A regular mouse is always the better choice.

Arrrr...
Can't...
...wait...
...anymore...
Edit:
It is now 9:30pm over here in Germany, which means it is well past noon everywhere on the North-American continent.
Would you please just hurry up guys? ;)
-
Hrm....
My laptop is a convertible tablet, and since the game can apparently be played with only the mouse, I wonder if it'd be awesome to play on the tablet screen?
-
It would be pretty much like playing it onto the DS, wouldn't it?
-
Guess me and Zeno will dine together on the awesomeness of touch-screen Aquaria. =P

Bumping as I'm not sure how often the devs view posts off the first page. So, will I be able to install it on both my laptop and desktop systems with one purchase? The buy page doesn't say anything that I can see.
-
Well, I can actually answer that one for you. Its a yes. I've installed it on my Windows partition and then again later under Linux/Wine. Just save your installer file, the link you're emailed link does expire and the only way to get a new one is to email Alec and Derek.
-
Thank you very much luciferin :). Emailing the devs to get a new key sounds like an okay way for the customers, but I think they're setting themselves up for a problem later with having to monitor their mail and manually create a new key every once in a while. Particularly if this game becomes highly successful it could evolve into a problem, but I don't know the expected sales figures.
Now just for Paypal to recognize the deposit I made...
