Long story short; I decided after looking around the internet for a bit that I wanted to buy Aquaria, but there is one piece of information that I couldn't seem to find:
Is there any difference between the steam version and the version available on this site? I'm asking because I know that steam usually uses a strange unique way to store it's games, which can, in some cases, make modding and such difficult.
I know about the difference with achievements on steam, what I'm wondering has more to do with file structure and such.
I hope my question is even remotely understandable (and in the right forum!) :-\

Support's always the right place for such question.
I personally don't have Aquaria on steam, but I suppose that besides the achievements that there are barely any big differences.
I further have no clue what the game structure is, but I assume that it's the same as the original game, but then deeper in a steam folder.
Or maybe it's been installed in another folder, I don't know. xD
Someone with a steam version should obviously answer this, but I hoped I at least helped a bit. ^^:

Well, it's good to know I'm in the right forum, at least :)
And I suppose you're right. Hopefully someone with the steam version will spot this topic...

Shouldn't be any difference. (other than achievements)

Wasn't it a later version? 1.2.0 instead of 1.1.2 or something?

1.1.2 instead of 1.1.1 last I checked.
In theory, the game's executable would also be modified so that it needs to be launched through Steam.
