Title: Huge bug I came across
Post by: Thimerit on April 16, 2009, 03:29:09 pm
Well to start off, before I entered "The Body" I was able to skip the Sunken City. I used fish form to get past the huge vine (or whatever is was x.x).
Problem is... I freed Li and went all the way to the last boss but I decided to collect stuff like Memories to make the ending more enjoyable.

But now I did visit Sunken City, completed it, vine is gone, but so is Li! Since the bubble went black, he's no longer there. I tried the song for it but the bubble only shakes, nothing more.

Sooo... I need to restart? XD

Well, first, tell us what version you have, cause this bug has been fixed before.

Second, you could try sending your save file to Alec, but I think he might be a bit too busy to just fix it for ya, though you can always try.

Third, I would suggesting starting over, cause, besides alterng the save game, this is not solvable anymore. (unless you also get past the rest of the body, using another bug ((which I can't remember)), to get past those blockades without using that special form at all)

Good luck either way.

Oh, I can even fight the final boss, but the problem is that I crash once I killed the first form XD Too bad.

I have version 1.0.0 if you wonder. I can't find a way to update my version of Aquaria... :(

And i won't bother Alec for such a small thing ^^ I wanted to start over anyway :>

You definitely should find a way to update it - an innumerable number of bugs were fixed in the two patches, and several new features added.

If you like a game enough to play through not only once, but twice, you should really support the developer and buy a legit copy.  Easiest way to update, too.

I know what you guys are getting at. I am pretty much against pirating myself, but I just had to try out the full version since I don't like being limited :-[

Is there a way to buy it without using a credit card or paypal? Since my dad is pretty much against buying stuff online. (And then I mean, really against me doing so).

Now, I'll let you know once I've bought it, will you forgive me then? XD

Oh btw, I'm somewhat of a game designer myself, so I know how the creator would feel about pirated software!

Unfortunately not, the only venues for purchase are online, either through Plimus (or Ambrosia for Macs) or Steam. If your dad is worried about the security of online credit card purchases, he can maybe take comfort in the fact that Steam is a huge company with an incredibly secure system, as millions of people worldwide can attest -- and Steam will download and install any updates  to the game automatically, which is pretty handy :)

Steam is a content delivery platform, not a company. Valve Software is a company, comprised of roughly 200 people.
The millions of customers worldwide part is true, though.

Didn't Valve create and actually owns Steam though?

I mean, all Steam is, is software made and owned by Valve, right?

Yes. I was just clarifying the semantics.

Sadly, Steam is not without its perks. The service used for paying refuses to send me the confirmation SMS required to create an account. Goody. At least Plimus sent me 2 copies of the game by accident...

I had trouble making an account with Steam because the system was mysteriously not approving my application form but not telling me that it was because the name was taken. I tried another name and it worked. I don't know if this is at all related to your problem?

I don't think I ever needed any confirmation with making an account.
