what are they and how do i get through 'em?
if its something I get later on, let me know just that.

Yep, you'll get it later on.  It should be easy enough to recognize when you have it.

True, it isn't required to beat the game.  But if you explore carefully and pay attention to both the minimap and the world map, you should find it.

There are 8 forms in the game, one of them is able to go through the smallest cracks.

If you explore the kelp forest thoroughly, you'll eventually come across a strange cave that looks like you can do something there.

And what should I do in this cave? There are a lot of fishes and symbols on the stones? Where should I sing them? Or is it something different?
