I can't get anywhere in Mithalas; keep swimming around the same old stuff. I went to YouTube and checked out some of the videos and there's one where Naija gets the grey coin thing that opens up a tunnel. Well, I got the grey coin thing but no tunnel. Do you think it's because I was wearing Krotite armor when I sat you-know-where? I can't start over now, I didn't save any stuff from before I went to Mithalas. When I go back and sit in normal form nothing happens. Help! Idiot! Or is it a bug?
-
Oh, you already sat. Ignore my advice in the other thread...
Did you sit for 3 seconds or so? It doesn't open immediately.
-
Did you place the grey coin into the seat before you sat Naija down?
-
Yes, I put the coin in and sat for about 15 seconds and nothing happened. I have tried to go back and do it later but that doesn't work. I'm just stuck; I can't get anywhere without beast and spirit and I can't get either.

I would recommend reinstalling your game if even more serious glitches appear - it sounds almost as if the installation skipped or missed a few files. [NOTE]: I base this off my experience with fiddling around with mod files, so it may or may not be true for the game. Just save all the .zga and .aqs files (saves) and email Alec with your purchase information.
-
That does sound like a bug because that tunnel should open if the coin is in the chair, and if you sat long enough... You have placed it in the chair have you, only just finding it doesn't work if it's not placed properly?
-
Yes, it was placed in the chair before sitting. I may have not sat long enough the first time, though, and when I went back again it was too late; sat and sat, no luck. Think you have to sit awhile and maybe have a little snack at the time; later is too late. Wrote Alec, waiting for reply. Thanks!

You should be able to go back to it any time and open the passage so that is not the cause, I'm sorry Sindhi, you do have a bug but you should be able to get around it if you return to an earlier save.
And you do need to inform Alec at the same time just in case you can't get around this bug that's in your version. :)

I don't have any saves from before I went to Mithalas. I told Alec about a day and a half ago but he's probably busy. I'm nervous about deleting the program and starting all over; tried to save my files but I'm not sure I did it right, and even if I save them, what's to prevent the bug from returning? Just hanging out and making runs for recipes. Discovered I can pop into the sea nymph cave and out multiple times to fry the sea dragon over and over and get tons of leaves and sometimes special bulbs. Haven't done anything interesting; frustrated and bored now. Thanks for all the help and support.
-
Just start a new game, no need to delete unless you find the same bug again. You can always keep that one save file and use the othere save spaces then nothing is lost at all. :D
-
If I start a new game I lose everything, right?
-
You'll always have the memories.
(By which I mean yes :) )
-

No you won't unless you save over every one of your previous saved games. I have gone through my game only using half the save spots this time wheich leaves half of my previous game that I could return to if I wanted to. :)
-
I misinterpreted, just ignore me. You can definitely keep the old saves, but any recipes or anything else will have to be rediscovered in the new game.
-
Yeah, I started again; was clubbing fish with rocks like crazy to get fish and oil to stock up for the energy temple; that boss is harder for me than Mother Nature because I'm just not very fast on the third laser with Mr. Snarly. Thanks, dude.

That's ok delve, I have made my fair share of booboo's and I was just putting the record straight :)
-
Sheesh, I fell like a prize idiot. I didn't right-click on the throne before. No bug, the game works fine. Unlike self. Very extra-red face.
-
We all make those sorts of mistakes.
You should see some of the idiot jobs I build at work sometimes, fortunately I usually catch them before they enter production.

Now I'm getting my butt kicked by the throbbing laser beast; have yet to kill more than one before running out of all the good food. What can I say? I'm beginning to suspect getting through Mithalas cathedral is like running the Boston marathon with asthma, knee replacements and an eighty-pound backpack (for me, anyway, wuss that I am. My mouse finger is really sore. The avatar is definitely wishful thinking!). How do you guys do it? Maybe I'm too old for this.....
-
you'll think the laser beasts are quaint when your done the whole cathedral. focus on the beast and not the spawn, power up with spicy roll, soup and defense if you think it's warranted and spam away at the soft spot, rotating as much as you can with his lasers. they are really just a nice choreographed dance and warming you up for the main course >:D
-
I'm beginning to wonder how I'm ever going to get through the cathedral without 40 bowls of turtle soup, 40 volcano rolls, 40 plump perogi, and four pets. Is there a way of bringing in your seed bag and a fish hatchery?
-
Are you using WASD (or arrows I guess) and mouse or just mouse? Being able to shoot in a direction other than the one you're moving really helps.
-
My strategy for the Mithala Cores:
As you're lighting up the eyes in the beginning you'll notice they're not evenly spaced. Try to get in one of the larger gaps when you open the final eyes. Once the initial spin of doom finishes up and the target emerges, charge up a shot and get a lock on the damage-able part. After that, ignore all spawns and swim in circles around him (closer you are to him easier it is to keep up with the damage-able spot) using boost when necessary to keep up. Just keep peppering him with shots as fast as you can, normal uncharged shots are more efficient than charges. Afterwards it should drop some Health, pick that up and just clean up the spawns from the room (they also sometimes drop health). Good luck and remember save crystals heal you. :)
-
Good explaination see.blue, just one thing, look for a bed that also replenishes her health if she sleeps in it :D Once you have beaten those things once they do become easier even if they are still scary :o
-
Fortunately, once you defeat one it will never come back. So you should be able to restock those tough cakes if you need to. :)
