So I was poking around in the gfx folder (and Xaigan, I saw the folder with Lucien's name and the reference to his girlfriend, thanks), and I saw this picture in the Naija directory, with the Nature Form pieces:

Where the heck does this thing ever come up? Is it some basic function of the nature Form that I've managed to completely overlook, or was it just not implemented, or what?
Also, those phallic briar pillars are apparently "übervines."
-
You'll find many unimplemented ideas in the gfx folder - that is one of them.
-
Uber vines I think are: Possible spoiler:those vines that loop around some of the kelp forest, the ability here is that they hurt her in her other forms but not in Nature form, and I think Spirit form but I could be wrong on the last one? There must be a way to make them loop because I am sure that is what they are..
-
Maybe the uncharged Nature Form attack was originally supposed to actually do something useful.
-
It does, it opens those flower things that get marked on your map as a seed.

And then you gather the pearl from the open flower :)
-
that would be funny if there was a hidden nature attack buried all this time :)
-
Yes - you have to do a triple roll, leapfrog over 5 Rukh nests, then explore every inch of the Kelp Forest to charge up the attack (rolling all the time when you do it). ;)

...And not getting interrupted by an enemy attack all the whie... I know.. i tend to push thing to the limit... sorry! :)

You do know I was joking. xD Just kidding, I know you know I know you knew. ;)

I know it's awkward (understatement of the hour), but it's difficult to voice the concept otherwise. :)

Hmm... maybe nature form was originally able to create those long, thin vines, and they actively swung at enemies? Or entangled them. Could've been a combo of charged and normal attacks, like first creating an übervine, then throwing buncha small seeds at it and it sprouts a longer & thinner vine.
-
That would be cool - are you suggesting that the briar, when augmented in that way, would become a turret?
-
Dunno, exactly. Just anything that would that seed shot less gimmicky might be nice.
-
Have you completed the game yet? There's a small section before the end that serves as the flower shot's claim to fame. :)

Are you talking about the 'Gauntlet' by any chance Chibi :o ::) ::) ::) ::)
-
No - I was talking about the Sunken City section SPOILERS in which Naija leads the girl to Eric. The nature form flowers are completely ineffectual against Uber-Nautiluses, mutants, and smiling tentacle wheels of death. :D
-
Well, it's used in just a single puzzle (I did say "gimmicky" rather than "completely useless") :/

No not gimmicky at all, they are needed in a lot of places, but natures other shot is priceless in many situations ;D
-
You mean the flowers do have a use outside of that puzzle?
Have to admit I didn't try them much after noticing they passed straight through enemies and didn't affect them noticeably...
-
Flower Shot: Sunken City puzzle, Ballon Plant Tunnels, (Opening of Pearl Petals? Or only charged form?)
Charged Nature Shot: Pretty useful everywhere. ;)
-
Oh yeah, the big flowers... still, some use outside of puzzles... Well, eh, I guess it's just a matter of design choice.
-
Well you can make the abyss look pretty for a short time I suppose? ;D

It could be worse. I've only found one place where the Fish Form's bubbles actually have any use, and you'd have to be insane to actually attempt using them there.
SPOILER: The Creator's bug-like form is vulnerable to ANYTHING you shoot, including uncharged plant form and bubbles. And on second thought, regarding the insanity, I have done that battle under the influence of rainbow soup, so I suppose that doing it in fish form wouldn't be that much worse...

What about moneyes and the Spirit Form priests? Both can be captured with bubbles - with moneyes, it's a great way to stockpile ammo for the beast form.

Now that's a useful ability that I had absolutely no idea existed. Darn it, and here I'd thought that they'd made one genuinely useless attack... :-[

Awesome! :D

Yeah, that was one the immediate things that caught my attention about the nature form. The regular flower shot is pretty much useless except in the case of getting 1 pearl, and for opening the teleport tunnels. I thought the flower could at least emit a poisonous gas cloud that effects enemies would at least be something more. Being able to use the ubervine to entangle and slowly damage creatures would be amazing too. Oh, well, who knows besides Alec what the intentions were for that graphic. *shrug*
