Title: Amusing (though fatal) bug
Post by: 12345 on December 29, 2008, 06:16:52 am
I was just on the screen west of the sun temple, with a fish passage, a save crystal, and a very difficult-to-make jump that nets you a legendary cake. Anyway I spent like 10-15 minutes trying to make that jump (eventually got it, took quite a few hot soups though, go me) and when I went back down I noticed that my fps had dropped by quite a bit. I headed down to the fish passage and there were tens of hundreds of those little pink critters. I guess they are supposed to be shrimp? Plankton? I don't know, they look like tiny flesh-pink centipedes and have little eggy nests of the same consistency. There were so many of them. They were literally flooding the screen. After looking at them for about ten seconds my game grinded to a halt and crashed (generic windows error message, not the nvidia thing, I think). I guess they are supposed to self-replicate if you're nearby and I happened to be nearby for quite a while. I tried to take a screenshot, but it came out all black.

Maybe something to fix in 1.1.3?

Hehe, yeah, if you don't kill'em they totally overpopulate. :D

makes getting the Legendary cake even more legendary if you can get it before those lil guys take over

I always feel an overwhelming desire to exterminate those little guys whenever I see them. Kind of disturbing, actually.

You'll love the Dual Form then - perfect for krill extermination; however, the culling might be as processor-intensive as the breeding on your computer.
