Title: what is this problem?
Post by: inkblob on December 17, 2008, 02:49:56 pm
I originally posted in the screen tearing thread, but my problem is not that and wonder if anyone can identify what's going on based on these screenshots:

click through the thumbnails to bigger versions. I can 'correct' these problems by toggling out of the game and switching to task manager, and then switching back to the game, but invariably this happens again. the game slows down a lot when this happens and occasionally bsod's. I have not seen this anywhere else but also don't use this box for gaming really, mostly game on consoles. what sort of troubleshooting steps should I take here? I've installed the latest video drivers, tried the game at different resolutions, without framebuffer effects on, and the darkbuffer setting. the graphics card is nvidia quadro fx 540 and box is amd athalon 3000+ w/1.5 gb ram. thanks for any help!
