I loved these things, so for people who havent used them, they are the pyramid things in the bottom when you open the area map, and if you swim do a place, then click it, it will ask you the name, then type whatever youwant to mark, and it will stay on yors screen, and when you hover over it, it will say what you tyed in. Just anotther innovative jewel to this game.

Haha. Don't feel too bad Chimera. I had to look up the help files to know how to actually place map markers.. Your post helps people that come to the forums for help instead. ;)
-
I wasn't trying to demean Chimera in any way - I was simply adding a reference to his remarkably thorough post. :)

I love these map markers. so far, I'm using purple ones to indicate areas I have to go back and look at and yellow ones to show good fishing areas and what sorts of ingredients I can find there. this is my fave new feature in the game :D

Glad to hear the new features are turning out to be useful. :)

It would be cooler if you could change the range of colors of the markers to any color, that way you could organize the types better. But still, this feature of the game is definitely a GREAT add.
-
That's mankind. They want a chocolate bar and if they get it, they complain about the missing nougat. ;)
-
Yes - and when they go on a diving trip to the most beautiful reef on earth, they want oxygen too. ;D Just a parody of your post, Xiagan. I love the map markers - although new colors would definitely be something to think about, the tags are oftentimes enough.

Wasn't trying to be greedy, but thanks for the remark. :P I'm not saying that I don't love them the way they are. I'm just saying a possible add for future versions. I'm sure Alec would want to continue adding once he gets all the bugs out for people, I don't think he's just going to want to abandon the game. He wouldn't be here still as it is when he's already got a new team and developing other games. :)

Perhaps there will come a time when he says enough is enough, you can add too many featurs to a game and spoil it, but I do love the idea of being able to add markers :D
Though I have a funny memory, it's hard for me to remmember names but I can recall where I haven't been on the maps and where the best hunting is without the need of markers :D I am also a very good map reader in a car now there's one for your books :D lol

map in a car? that's illegal here. We've reverted to GPS these days. Unless you want to keep pulling over to read a map, or unless you are a passanger reading the map. :P LOL I know you didn't say you were driving while reading the map, but for some reason it just sparked a visual.
-
Lol. Calm down there. Not everyone is rich enough to have gps in their car. xD
Well, not in NZ atleast. o.o
-
This is a little off topic, but I swear that my GPS's voice has a steadily warmer tone as we travel closer to home. At the end, the voice says "Arriving at destination!" with palpable ecstasy. It's a little weird. :)
-
lol :) Maybe that's just your sub-conscience, as you approach your home you feel more relaxed and maybe that's how everything sounds to you in your environment as you are near home.

No I mean as a passenger DM, it's also illegal here for a driver to read a map while travelling and besides I usually map read for my parents who don't want a GPS. Well at 87 who can blame them having a talking car was almost too much for my father he was continually arguing with it when it kept telling him to update his insurance lol
I don't drive because I never got around to learning :(
-
Lol. Maybe they made it that way on purpose. ;D
[Tone of voice is inversely proportional to the distance from the place marked home]
....
[Don't even think about moving out of the country]
xD
What we really all want: Aquarian GPS. We could just be swimming along in Open Waters and hear an automated voice tell us to take the next left up to the veil. :D
-
Haha! In Timbuktu the GPS's voice would be a cold wind whistling out of Siberia (maybe welcome in such a hot clime) XD.
"Turn left at the next song plant - WATCH OUT FOR THE SEA DRAGON!" lol ;D
-
Oh brother,.... what a spin off. : / lol
-
And watch out for the seahorse crossing lol
-
Sorry to have copied your joke DM - couldn't resist. ;) Sounds like a novel idea for a mod.
