How to kill the Hard Beetle? I'm assuming it's that small black thing that crawls around a stone and doesn't do anything. I've tried shooting it for a while and I've tried pulling it, both without success.

It takes a lot of hits, but it does die eventually.

Yes that thing is a begger to kill, it can take anything up to 15 real time minutes of solid spamming to kill it, but it can be worth it.

Robert I once got hot borsch from killing a Big Maul, and you don't mention the yellow sea slug in your list, if you can kill that you get all sorts of special drops but I seem to have had mostly the hot borsch or the healing poltice from it so far.

Silver if you mean that thing in the kelp forest that runs away its called the 'coward', its in the list.

And I didn't know that you could kill that hard beetle... I tried for quite a while using all sorts of techniques. But 15 minutes? Sheesh no wonder I never pulled it off. xD

I might of exagerated the time taken a little but it does need a lot of spamming and it seems to take 15 minutes lol And as for the names, I don't know many of the creatures names, but to me coward suits the peg creatures just as well :D

There have been names for creatures that have been tossed around because we didn't have the real names Alec used in the scripts. Version 1.1.1 provides the scripts, and therefore the names. Actually, if you peek in the gfx folder of your Aquaria install, you can see the body parts for all these creatures, which would probably give you a good idea of what's what.

There really ought to be a bestiary section in the Aquaria strategy wiki.

I was amazed that sometimes it was actually quite hard to construct the creature out of those body parts in your brain. ;)

What does that mean "also by singing"? What do you sing to the animals to make them drop stuff? :o

I kill the hard beetle with Nature Stalks and Energy Bullets. Ive never seen the coward. Ive always wondered: can you kill a Predatory Tunicate?

it took about 5 min of steady energy blast spamming, nothing like 15 min or all night. I passed the time having a casual conversation and adjusting my aim and position, it didn't take too long  :)

Haha! That character from MapleStory looks remarkably like Li - even down to the yellow bracelet on his wrist. Did you aim for that look?

Ya, they dont have the right skin tone for Najia in bannedstory, so I had to make Li instead. Thanks.

Eels will drop Eel Oil if you sing to them. I don't know the exact science to it; sometimes I can get the oil, and sometimes I can't. The best I've figured out is that you have to keep changing notes so that they'll swim around you in a circle.

weird, it's like your squeezing it out of them. will have to try that

Looking through the script, each eel is spawned with 1-3 drops of oil that you can extract.  To get the eels to drop oil, just sing a single note constantly for somewhere around ten seconds (it also works to sing a series of different notes, but I'm sure sure if that will end up being quite as fast).  Interestingly, if I'm reading the script right, that shouldn't work (you should need to stop singing before the oil will drop), but in-game testing shows that it does.

Anyway, thanks for the tip about the eels- getting eel oil was a real pain.

I just spin my curser around her notes in a circle until it drops some oil, it's less complicated that way :)
