I need this for a little feature I'm working on.
I'm curious what you guys' lowest racing time on the seahorse race is? Also: how did you achieve it?
Thanks. :)
-
My lowest time was 1:29 (not very low, but the most efficient). I simply used fish form and ate one hot soup for every thirty seconds. Spirit form seemed much too cumbersome for the race. Hope that helps. :)
[EDIT] I'll add an edit in a few days showing my very fastest time.
I think Xiagan's fastest time was achieved by bouncing off the walls extremely fast (Derek's favorite activity during editing, apparently) ;)
-
I managed 1:18 this time but before my lowest was 1:20.
-
never won at the race, so i gave up on the last treasure :'(

Try just running the course without the timer a few times until you know every twist and turn, and then use fish form and soup, it's not that hard or I wouldn't be able to do it.

This was one of the easiest parts of the game for me. Fish form and one hot soup right at the end got me 1.28. Second run I tried! Chuffed that this has been found hard. I did however spend about 2 hours on SIMON SAYS before cracking it thou!! :-\
-
I did 1:25 with fish form and spirit form, and no items. Strangely when I revisited the area days later my time changed to 1:26 on the stone ???
Are + items cumulative? Could you eat 8 soups and go bonus fast?
-
Thanks guys! :D
Keep 'em coming...

I don't think items add on to each other: eating more than one every thirty seconds would just waste soup in the overlapping time.
BTW: overwrote the save for the Arnassi Ruins, my next time will be slow in coming :)
[EDIT] Ok Silver: should of PM'd him then :P
Fairly on-topic point: I was slowed down a LOT by hitting the statues on my first three tries.

Kep this thread on subject as much as possible guy, Alec needs this info and I am sure that he won't want to search a long thread for the info :D

Here we go, 1 minute flat with fish form, spirit form, and divine soups (+2 speed). I didn't run it perfect so it's entirely possible to get an even lower time.

I practiced a little more and got 53 seconds. Again with fish form, spirit form, and royal soups (speed +2). I learned the optimal distance to use spirit form and moved these 2 form hotkeys to the trigger buttons so I can hit them quicker. I may be mistaken but it seems like the soups count down even when I'm in spirit mode?
50 seconds is probably the limit with this method, if you can run it perfectly (I'm still not perfect). Maybe if someone was really good at wall jumping in beast form and could slow the game down somehow he could get a better time.
-
That... Is... Incredible!
Seriously though... wow. My best time is like 1:18, and you beat that by more than 20 seconds.
When do you use spirit form?

Bad ass, dude. 8)

:o
I wish that I had that much control over her when shes had the soup the gives her that much speed :o
-
Wow :o You have my profound admiration, man. I thought I was good with a 1:20 time. :) (Achieved with divine soup and numerous collisions with the crotches of statues) :D
[EDIT] "I had the exact same problem with control," Chibi says as he watches Silverflagon blow smoke off the end of her posting gun :)

Does anyone have a save file with their super awesome (< 60 seconds) record saved in it?
If so, please send to: zaphire@gmail.com
Thanks folks! :)
-
I'm looking in the save folder, how do I figure out which one it is? Or should I just zip 'em and send them all?
I was thinking about racing it again and recording it to throw up on youtube, but I'm not sure where to get starting with that. Never recorded playing a game before.

save file # is the number of the save slot - 1
i just need the .aqs file, but it doesn't hurt to get the .zga too.

A little bit of both - "AWESOME MAN!" and "you make me feel so inadequate." :o / :(

There should be an achievement for such a low time - it takes some finesse to dodge all the obstacles. Congrats! :)
[EDIT] Ignore the bunny's eye direction :) / *Sorry Derek!*
-
Omg, 41 seconds?
I feel untalented and clumsy now. :'(
-
Duuuude. That was epic. 8)
You deserve a medal or something.
-
I'm just going to crawl away into a corner now and cry, that was awesome :o
I just keep swimming into things, stil 1:18 isn't bad for a clumsy devil like me :D :'(
-
wow! I thought fishform was a bit too random for the track, bumping into things but I've been schooled ( fish pun intended ) incredible performance!
