I don't know if anyone else has had this problem- basically a bug and a gameplay issue.
When I first ran into the Simon Says boss, I had Li with me. I kept trying to mimic the boss, but Naija would go into 'idle' while I was singing and kept drifting over to hang out with Li over and over. I'd try continually moving while singing but that was too involved. I just figured I would come back later and went off to do something else.
However, I got as far as the final dungeon before I wound up deciding to drop Li off in the home cave and go ahead with finishing up the Simon Says boss. However, now that I've lost (and recovered) him, the scuba helmet in the home cave no longer seems to work. Whenever I click it it just seems to make a little defunct 'does not work' noise.
Any ideas as to how to get around this? Is it a bug or intentional (to prevent you from using dual form without Li actually around?) Last time I was around the boss I tried just snagging him on a rock somewhere but that was a no go as well.

After a certain point in the progression, you're not able to get rid of Li. A better solution might be to have Li show up whenever you go to the final dungeon.
For the 1.1.0 patch I can put something in that blocks Li from messing with you while you're at Simon. (we're going to make some changes to how Li works overall, as well)

I had this problem too, but they were only hugging, when to close together, so I had to swim to the simon says boss in a way, that kept Li in a distance, then it worked.

Same as Xia, just keep Li a bit away from you and don't face him, that should work.

I too had this problem. Seems like Li just likes to cuddle. Isn't that just so like a man? Does nothing, leaves all the cooking to the woman, and just wants to "cuddle" when she has those certain "needs"...*JOKING! Don't kill me!*

I had the same problem. It was friggin' annoying.
I'm guessing the cuddling happens after a few seconds of idle time. If that's so, I suggest making it so that if Naija is singing she is not considered idle. That seems more robust than just making Simon's area a "no cuddle zone."

Yeah. I kind of liked the Li interrupting you while you were singing thing though. It could be interpreted as Naija singing to Li.

Li will break away if Naija gets hurt. The idea was it would be fun to sing-swim with them together through schools of fish and other neutral enemies.

I didn't notice that i could ride on sea horses until i had played about 12h in to the game :)

I realized it by accident because, like it's been noted above, Li likes to cuddle as you sing, so I was just singing when he cuddled and I just kept on singing, since it didn't seem to affect that...but then we moved, and I was like...."shit" I guess it did interrupt me. Altogether annoying. But I like the idea that he cuddles in general, just not while you're trying to do other stuff..

Yea, could probably be a good idée for some people. But i would still like to be able to move around while they are hugging.
It feels a bit like they are dancing while moving around and singing at the same time :)

Yeah, I'd definitely leave that in. That was intentional (took a while to implement too). But yeah, its kind of like they're dancing.
If you sing the shield song while you're holding Li you can flip around the other way as well - kind of like a twirl! :)

Hmm yeah, might be good to block it while you're singing then.
Or make it optional? I actually keep a savegame where Li's been taken prisoner in the body because he interferes with my movement due to those hugs. It would kind of been nice to be able to keep Li at home at all times. :)

I didn't understand who was this Simon who appeared to be a reference in this forum since I saw a few people saying "Simon Says".
In fact it's like the french game "Jacques à dit". :D
I also had this problem with Li, since we moved as I sang the Simon Says Boss was out of the screen in the end...
I just put up the Spiky Costume and (how strange...) Li suddenly didn't seemed so attracted...
Honestly guys, you did a great job for this game... But that costume is really UGLY! :-X

Actually Li will still hug you. At least Li hugs 'me' when Naija's in the Sea Urchin Costume...

Btw, I see you've changed your avatar Alec. Where before I was mesmerized by Naija's cuteness now I am mesmerized by your manliest of chins. Does lack of sleep make one gay as well?

I finally beat Simon Says too, using the helmet at Naija's home cave to leave him there. I don't know any better solution...
