Title: Beginner here couple starter questions
Post by: GrimJahk on March 17, 2008, 04:10:05 am
I'm currently in Kelp forest, I have only the standard and Energy forms. I just found the sprite area.

I have a feeling I'm missing some forms that allow me to actually get things done as there are so many areas I cannot get to.

Last time I was at "Home" i was not able to find anything in the Veil room other than a section of wall that looked like it might be removable, but I was unable to accomplish anything with it.

Q1) am I hosed without the other forms at this point?

Q2) If so, am I better off restarting?

Q3) If not do I just keep moving forward or am i better off going all the way back?

You could keep poking around in the Kelp forest until you find a new form there (you should be able to get one there with what you've got) or you can go back to Open Waters and go further east to a different area and look for a form there.

Among other options; it's possible to trick your way past at least some of the obstacles using unconventional means.

After you left Home waters you can go to Kelp Forest or Mithalas (east of open waters). It doesn't matter where you go first, but I'd prefer going to Mithalas before Kelp forest. :)

This game isn't quite like what it seems your thinking.  You are never "hosed".  It's a VERY non-linear game.  You go where you want, when you want, and when you CAN.  That's important.  There's a TON of stuff very early in the game that you can't get to without other forms.  Explore more and come back later.  Aquaria is not the kind of game where you will EVER have to "restart".
