Title: Just Bought Game and It Wont Run

I just bought the game. The game crashes to desktop immediately after the intro "movies" and before the main menu.

So I installed the latest patch (12-17) and it solved the problem. Although the installer and the patch have the same version of the executable, the installer did not contain the data.001 file. Once that was in place, the game runs fine.

Sadly, I have to assume anyone who purchased the game since December has had this problem.

I don't think so. I think we would have heard about it if that was the case.

Data 001 isn't required, it just contains updated version of the files for older-than-12.17 setups.

Well at least on my computer, the game will not play without data.001 and the latest installer doesn't install the file. I uninstalled and reinstalled to verify.
