Second post, hey everyone. I'm on my first play through and after browsing the forum a bit it appears I've gotten my fors all out of order. I went from energy straight to sun, with nothing in between. Am I crazy, mad, and obtuse? Or has someone done this before?
-
Wow, you did it with Ekkrit pushing you up to the veil, right? This shouldn't be possible, but it's a cool bug.
Nope, nobody did this before. I strongly recommend you go back and fetch beast form (for swimming against currents) and nature form now. ;)
-
That's exactly what I did. It wasn't hard either, though my attempts to get Ekkrit to push me into the side tunnel of the nearby east->west current have thus far been thwarted. :) It's also possible I got lucky, of course.
And yeah, I've now discovered the Kelp forest and started picking up some of the goodies there.
Sadly, I appear to have overwritten the savegame with just the energy and sun forms, and I'm too lazy to go back and do it again. Wish I'd known sooner :) Though, I do have a game with energy, fish, nature, and sun.

Hah, nice Trick, even though you still need another form for the currents, seeing they appear later on too.

That's pretty awesome. How does one do this? I'm terrible with names, so somebody refresh my memory...which one is the Ekkrit again?

Ekkrit is the big guy with the large jaw that's swimming around just outside the entrance to Mithalas. If you don't do anything aggressive, he will swim towards you and nudge you around. If you shoot him, he runs away. You can even climb on his back, if I remember right.

The 'trick' is simple. I noticed he's sort of pushy, as has already been stated. So I lured him directly below the north->south current nearby that lead up towards the Veil (not that I knew this at the time! :) ) and did the old aquarium-show stand-on-the-dolphin-nose trick with him. He pushed me right up to the next screen, and it was smooth sailing from there. Well, almost. I recon part of the reason the Sun Temple was so hard for me is because I didn't have Nature Form to use with the boss. :-\
-
that is real funny and will have to try that :D you don't really need nature form to take out the sunworm, straight up energy, mix in some spicy and spider rolls and he shouldn't last too long.
-
Only, I didn't have any spider rolls because I hadn't visited the Kelp forest and met the spiders yet. So it it was pretty much perogis and heal poultices. :)
-
yep, you are definitely obtuse ;) perogis tho? I don't think I made a perogi until the abyss... :o

I found one somewhere, off a creature or a plant I don't recall, and they only take a hand roll and two other common ingredients. The effect are really just a combo of a spicy roll and a crab cake, not really very special.
