Post by: Keksus on February 26, 2008, 06:42:49 pm
Hiya@all

I know it's a little bit late, but i have written a review about Aquaria for a german gamer network called globalgameport.
The GGP Site about independent games is new. So don't be put off by the layout ;)

The review is written in german. But maybe some of you have learned german or are from germany ;)

I want to know how the story continues :(

But if you don't make a sequel i think i will try it with the ingame editor :D

But im also interested if you make another game and would review it too ;)

Well, if there isn't a game made, I think at least that there should be a small story or even a Novel written. I also think  that Aquaria could be turned into a nice book too, but that's just my personal opinion. The way the game was told, it could be easily written into words. Even the bosses and general enemies.

You're not the only one with this opinion ;)

I'm of the strong opinion that if something starts as one form of media, it's very difficult to transfer all of its nature into another form of media.  Books to movies, movies to games, games to books.  I never enjoy the latter as much as the former.  Aquaria has such an amazing artstyle and presentation with the voices and visuals and sounds...you just can't put that into words.

Actually, Aquaria even looks like it's a book that's been "translated" into a game, the way Naija tells her story, so maybe you can't put it BACK into words again, but just use those words. Aquaria, when you know the story, could be easily made into a novel as far as I see.
