O0 Well what's the game everone here is most excited about?
Mine at the moment are Super Mario Galaxy, Lair, and Unreal 3.
-
Aquaria? :P
Having said that, I don't generally anticipate games. I tend to get games after they have been on the market for a while (I have a PS2. I bought that last year. There is a huge library that I am catching up on. I have a Mac. Not that many games for Mac. That's about it for my gaming). However, if the team that created Ico and Shadow of the Colossus have anything else up their sleeves, I will be anticipating that. I am also looking forward to IV's next offerings -- Multiwinia (due in 2008) and Subversion (due in 2009).

Besides Aquaria, I'm looking forward to avernum five.
That's it.
-
Mmm, Avernum. I'm still annoyed with Jeff for switching to the Geneforge Engine, but I plan on looking at A5 anyway. Oh, and Nethergate 2 should be cool.
Also, definitely Aquaria. But that's about it. I don't follow the gaming world as closely as I could.
-
Fallout 3. Hopefully bethesda wont fcuk it up.
-
The general consensus is that it'll basically be Oblivion with guns, which would be very bad. >:(

Indeed, that would be the perfect way to kill a great franchise ... I don't like Oblivion at all, let alone if it would be with guns. (S.T.A.L.K.E.R on the other hand totally rocks, but then again I do not agree with the 'it's so much like Oblivion' comments about that game anyways .. :p )
-
I think Obivion is alright and as for Fallout, yeah, hopefully they don't fcuk it up.
-
Stalker is pretty cool, but for some reason it just didn't charm me like I thought it would. :/
-
Stalker is lacking in many ways, but i am still strangely compelled to return to chernobyl... over and over again.
A new mmorpg seems to have risen. The game is called secret world, and it promises to be something new (better be, im sick of these wow wannabes).
It sounds pretty darn good tho...

www.darkdaysarecoming.com Im still trying to crack this puzzle... i want to see those concept arts!

Games I'm anticipating... besides Starcraft 2 you mean? ;)
Spore and Subversion
-
Aquaria, obviously.
Haze by the TimeSplitters crew.
No More Heroes by the Killer7 team.
Probably a bunch more...
-
Spore and Subversion
Yeah, Spore is very very promising so far, I really can't wait for that one either! :)
-
Fable 2 is another one on my list. I sure eople will agree the first one was disapointing. ^-^
-
Starcraft II... waiting... a long time.

Starcraft II... waiting... a long time.
Agreed. Actually, i've never played the first one even, but I saw the 22 min of gameplay trailer, which inspired me to look up the original, and i have friends who have SC I who say it's brilliant. I fully intend to purchase it. And the best part is that it'll run on my laptop no problem!

The Fallout 3 teaser should be out any moment now. :o
-
Whoa! Thats quite a feat those people have done there. Killing a brotherhood soldier aint easy :P

Aaaaaany moment now... :o
-
Nice teaser, it sure did... well... tease.
Can't wait for actual information about this game. The atmosphere seems to be going in the right direction though. So as far as we know about Fallout 3, it's looking good.
-
Good to hear that Ron Perlman will be doing the narration for the cutscenes again. Very nice teaser overall... i wonder, was that done with the actual game engine or not, cause it looked pretty oblivionish.

Yes it's in-engine.
-
I think their heart is definitely in the right place. I'm slightly worried because the character models from basically every Bethesda game ever made have been frightening, especially Oblivion!
Cool teaser though! Yay. ;D

It's because they use a character generator. So everything is built from a bunch of mathematical formulas instead of actually being drawn. The textures stretch, making the people in Oblivion look incredibly demented and slightly deformed.
-
The teaser doesn't exactly say and show much yet. Lol, I so dislike teasers of this kind. ^-^
I definitely won't even try it if it really turns out to be too Oblivionish. That would be such a disaster.

Yes, while I do like the teaser. It shows nothing of substance.
Many people fear Oblivion with guns. I'll be willing to give that a chance even if it happens... without being nitpicky. If the game will be good then I'll be happy.
-
Well, let's assume for a second people do say it's "like Oblivion" but with guns, then they still might be having it all wrong so to speak.
You know, a bit like the magazines who started to say S.T.A.L.K.E.R

Guys, I've just read Spore might be either 'on ice' or on 'the back burner', meaning it won't be released anytime soon, nor in the fiscal year of '08 , but if it ever get's released then it'll be '09 at earliest. :(
I sure hope this doesn't become a Duke Nukem Forever thing.
-
Spore definitely got pushed back. It's a shame, but I'm willing to bet they'll put that time to good use, and I want Spore to be special... so I'll wait. It was far enough off to begin with that pushing it back further doesn't hurt me too much. If Aquaria got pushed back a few months at this point, *that* would hurt. But I was okay with the Spore thing, and Bioshock's last delay didn't worry me too much either.
-
Did we say May 2007? We really meant May 3007.... :)
-
That's... not funny. :(
-
Considering how Spore went from a massive concept to a massive and beautifully-rendered concept in like six months, I'm not too concerned about it never getting finished; if anything, all this jazz about procedurally-generated content and constant downloading of everyone else's user-generated stuff to populate the game universe makes me think that it'd be a disaster if it was released this year. Wasn't The Sims delayed a bunch of times, too? And now it's one of the most ridiculously super-selling franchises ever. They'll do OK.
-
Gamespot has done a First-Look on Fallout 3. I think it sounds pretty promising.
"As we previously noted, combat can be done in real time, just like in an action game. If that's the case, the game is still doing dice rolls, taking into account your character's skills and abilities, but that's all transparent to you. Or you can pause the action at any time and engage in traditional Fallout-style combat, using the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System. VATS allows you to use any action points that your character has to target enemies. Combat will then unfold in real time before pausing again."
read the whole thingy here (http://www.gamespot.com/pages/gamespace/updates.php?pid=918428&sid=6173397&tag=topslot%3Btitle%3B1&page=1)

Aside from the obvious ones that have been commented on, I'm interested in Hail to the Chimp (http://chimplove.com/) (by Wideload (http://www.wideload.com/), Bungie's spiritual successor), and will definitely check out other Gamecock (http://www.gamecockmedia.com/) games as they're released.
I'm also interested in Guitar Hero 3, though I won't have a PS3 or a 360 so ability to play it will be pretty much dependent on roommates.

Holy poptarts! Can it be? Oh yes it can! (http://fallout.bethsoft.com/home/home.php)

Well, your prediction about Spore ending up a disaster regarding upload/download of user created content ended up being true...
Sorry... new poster here... have owned Aquaria since March 2008. Spore is actually why I'm here. Spore is dull, and it's a mess. Dug up Aquaria for something entertaining to play instead.
...Then realized I'd never joined the forum. Still lurking around for instructions on the patch, and latest news of Aquaria, and want to drop my compliments on the game for being pleasant, relaxing, and entertaining. It's obvious you guys put a lot of love into the game.
:)

Thanks for the kind welcome, sorry about *cough* grave digging...
You'll have to understand I'm a bit gun-shy, coming from Spore forum and all... :P

Oh is it that bad there? Well don't worry they are nothing like that here or I wouldn't stay around long, I can take strong language in it's right place but flame wars and back biting I want nothing to do with. >:(

It's not as bad as some places(forums) I've been, but politely put... it's quite messy currently.
The forums here already have the same general tone as Aquaria, relaxing, gently paced, soothing, intriguing ... :)
